“The Olympics of Softball”
The 2024 USSSA Challenge Cup is in its 6th year and features 410 teams playing across a month of weekends in a state vs state format. In its inaugural season (2019) Challenge Cup had 24 teams, in 2020 they had 74 teams, in 2021 they drew 164 teams, in 2022 they had 316, and in 2023 they had 400+! The growth and creation of this event is the brainchild of tournament director Strojan Kennison. The Challenge Cup men’s Major tournament begins on Friday, January 26th with 18 teams! In looking at the rosters this year this feels like the strongest group of men’s open teams this tournament has ever had!
They will play at Viera, Florida’s Space Coast Complex with its all turf fields and the Space Coast Stadium with its 325-365-385-365-325 field dimensions with a 16 HR limit using the Dudley Stadium ZN ball! The Major Division starts at 8 am eastern time on Friday morning with a 2 game pool play for all teams with the double elimination bracket play starting on Friday night at 4:30 PM and ending Sunday morning with the championship set for 11:00 AM eastern. #PlayUSSSA #ChallengeAccepted
