The big play in the JBL vs Roofx game at the Texas Legends Major!

After a week off Conference USSSA pulled into the annual Texas Legends Major at the Texas Star Park in Euless, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area April 26-28, 2024. 30 men’s teams with 20 of them being from Conference USSSA battled it out double elimination style. The entire tournament was played under the threat of severe weather and a tornado warning at one point but was only delayed for 45 minutes on Friday by hail and otherwise the weather was nice, overcast, and cooler with a lot of wind. RoofX/BadDraw/CE/Pure/Envy the new Major team from Indiana grinded through a tough bracket which included 2 Major teams and 6 ‘AA’ teams beating JBL Roofing/Pauer (OH-AA) in the “Round of 16” in a tight 27-26 victory on a walk off single by Brandon Yoder. Then they knocked off Classic Glass/Easton (CA-AA) by the run rule 43-28, then beat Str8play/Rebel/MAJ 58-53 in a 3 hour long game, and in the winner’s bracket finals they beat I-57 Roofing/Beechy’s/Royce Geo/SA a second year Illinois ‘A’ team 39-34 late Saturday night. On Sunday morning Str8play finished third after beating Sports Reach/Demarini/Grizzy/SMHS 41-40 with some nice defense in the bottom of the 7th inning. Then I-57 Roofing mercy ruled Str8play 29-9 in just 4 innings to make it back to RoofX in the championship game where RoofX won the tournament over I-57 Roofing early Sunday afternoon in a hard fought 40-29 victory. After a week off the Conference fly’s into Phoenix for a Cactus Classic showdown between the 4 Major teams on baseball fields now called Athletic Grounds formerly Legacy Sports Park.
