Another year down another great year by Conference USSSA… Every year the conference proves that if you put the right group of guys together, even B teams can upset Major teams.. We saw Sonny’s over the 4th of July upset Combat not once but twice in Kent, then in Atlanta watched as B team in Wiley’s and an A team in Taylormade upset the great GTL for an 0-2 finish.
This great year was followed up by the 16th seed at the USSSA Major World Series, after starting the tournament off with a loss, to come all the way back to defeat Combat in the losers bracket final. They finally met their match when the dominant Resmondo beat them for the World Series Title…
I think the one thing all teams can take from this season is that if you put the right group of guys together anything can happen.. And anyone can make a run at the title…
I’m very excited about next season and the new bat standards coming out. This is one of the best things thats happened since I’ve started playing. I have been lucky enough to swing the new MV1 Miken that is now being released and let me tell everyone just becuase there is a new standard they did not dumb these bats down in the slightest. Straight out of the wrapper, the bat was absolute dyna¬mite. I love the fact that we don’t have to worry about these bats breaking down and the break in time does not exist anymore. I also love the DST technology. The fact that if you alter the bat it will truly be shown. In my opinion, it will save some of the integrity left in this game. It will be nice for guys to be able to tip their cap after a long home run is hit.
I look forward to 2012 and another great year in Conference USSSA. I’ve seen some of the teams getting put together and the ques¬tion all winter is going to be, can anyone beat Resmondo? Can’t wait for the challengers to bring it on…
