This is the 2nd year that the Lonestar Shootout is a Conference USSSA men's and women's event and it is being held at the 8 field Mansfield, Texas Big League Dreams park outside of Dallas. There are 36 teams including 16 from the Nationwide Conference which means big points! The winner will earn 150 + (16 x 4) = 214 points. Precision is the only 'AA' team but I don't think they will have an easy weekend with some of the top 'A' teams in the country playing like Seminoles from Oklahoma, Envy from Texas, MyAutoJack from Arizona, and last years winner Classic Glass. The BLD fields are those major league replica fields with smaller but differing dimensions on each field and the tournament starts on Friday night at 5 PM central. On Saturday the women's major begins at 11 AM Central time with 12 teams and it looks like 8 of them are from Conference USSSA so another nice event for the women. The women finish up on Sunday. The weather will be cooler than normal for Texas with a chance of rain both Saturday and Sunday.
