As the winds died down after a brief rain shower in between games, GTL and Doerflinger hit the field for the second game of the 2011 Men’s Major Tournament. GTL showed up with a mission in mind, get the bats hot, and keep them hot. GTL put up a huge 1st inning with home runs by Formsa, Bowlin, and Howard putting 14 runs up on the board. Doerflinger couldn’t answer to the big inning by GTL and didn’t get any runs across the plate: 14-0.
GTL came out swinging again in top of the 2nd with lead off, back to back singles by Smith and Munson. They concluded the half inning with 5 runs. Doerflinger came up to the plate determined and strung together 4 runs making the score 19-4. The flip flop rule came into effect in bottom of 3 with GTL winning 25-4. Doerflinger couldn’t keep up with GTL’s bats and McDonald hit a 2 run homer in bottom of 4 to end the game in a run rule: 28-8.
