The Men’s Conference Championship this year will be held at the Berliner Park in Columbus, Ohio on Friday and Saturday September 12-13. The double elimination tournament features the top 18 men’s teams in the Conference including all 4 Major teams and all 5 ‘AA’ teams. The weather looks good and they will play on the 4 high school baseball fields in the middle of Berliner Park which have artificial turf infields and grass outfields. The infields usually do not have base pegs at 75 or 80 feet so they have to use the 70 foot bases. Hopefully they use the Pro-M ball. If they use the Hardcore ball expect ridiculously high scores and long games which could beat up the players before worlds which no one really wants. The Pro-M ball would be the perfect ball for these fields. With the shorter bases if they use the Hardcore it will be easy to hit through the infield and outs will be hard to come by. There are 180 + (18 x 4) = 252 points to the winner. 212 for 2nd, 192 for 3rd, 182 for 4th, 172 for 5th and so on. RoofX has the points lead going into the tournament by only 34 over Resmondo so if either RoofX or Resmondo win the Conference Championship tournament, they will be the #1 going into the Major World Series. The Women’s Conference Championship is being held at the Mid America Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kansas on Saturday and Sunday September 13-14. The top 18 Women’s teams in the country will be there to battle it out for the 252 points. Derby Girls is 16 points ahead of Team 24 in the standings so if either of those teams wins this tournament they will be the #1 seed for the Women’s Major World Series.
