Thursday Recap
Quincy Lattimore from Ataraxis hits against Chick-fil-a Thursday morning.
The annual Hall of Fame Classic Dual began on Thursday, April 10th at 8 am on 5 – 325-365-385-365-325 all artificial turf baseball fields at the USSSA Spacecoast Complex in Viera, Florida. There were 21 teams (18 Conference) from 13 states and Canada. They used the Dudley Stadium ZN ball, normal Conference home run limits, and 75 foot bases. Both tournaments were played in perfect softball weather, 60 to 80 degrees with very little humidity and partly sunny skies. Wind did factor significantly into the scoring and teams and pitchers that adjusted to the wind first, were usually more successful. The players like the grueling 4 days of softball to see “where they stand” at the beginning of the season.
The “play in” games started with the new Virginia ‘AA’ team Chick-fil-a/Shore OL/LS/Skren/BAF returning to Conference after a year away playing the Canadian team Proaxion. Chick-fil-a’s leadoff hitter Nick Canfield and middle infielder Travis Tucker each went 4-4 as they scored 12 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to win easily by the run rule in 4 innings 27-12. Fishers/StoltzfusWelding/All Hustle (PA-B) playing in the stadium scored 9 runs in the top of the 2nd inning and led 15-13 against SNI/LOB/DeMarini (FL-A) going into the bottom of the 7th. SNI got a 1 out home run from Corey Jaramillo to pull to within 1 run but left 2 on base to end the game. Fisher’s and SNI are both new Conference teams this year. SNI lost 15-14 but out homered Fisher’s 2-1 and Fisher’s was led by 1st baseman Elmer Fisher who was 4-4. Fisher’s was the 2024 USSSA ‘C’ World Champs. Legendz/Beloli/MSGA Sports (OK-A) a merger of two Conference ‘A’ teams from 2024 (Legendz & Ely Reel) trailing Wicked Mitts/ Stroke of Magic (AL-B) a new Conference team 6 to 4 going into the bottom of the 4th, scored 7 runs to grab the lead and pretty much shut down Wicked Mitts the rest of the game to win 15-8. Jared Vanderhoof and Ben Young hit the only home runs for Legendz as wind negatively affected the scoring on many of the big baseball fields. Dirty Vegas/BDC/Ark Concepts (TX-A) shut out SCR/HypeSports/CutFactory a non-conference Florida ‘A’ team in 4 consecutive innings and scored 8 in the bottom of the 6th to beat them 16-6. Dirty Vegas hit 6 triples and 3 home runs in the game including a 4-4, 2 HR performance from the 4 hitter Craig Pellegrin. And in the final play in game Top Shelf/Mr.Gutter/F2B a new Conference ‘B’ team from Florida knocked off F1s/DS/Proton/Prime/Trillstar (TX-TBD) 22-12 out homering them 4-3. Top Shelf was led by Kyle Isennock the pitcher who was 4-5 and leadoff hitter Christian James who hit 2 home runs.
The “Round of 16” was also played Thursday morning. In an early battle of top ‘AA’ teams WestPoint (IN-AA) scored 7 in the bottom of the 1st and overcame some good early infield defense by Reach/Demarini/Worshams/RedAthlete (KY-AA) to get the lead. In the top of the 5th Sports Reach infielder Dagmar Pena hit the only home run of the game to tie the game at 9-9. But Westpoint scored 5 in the bottom of the 5th, got Sports Reach to go down in order 1-2-3 in the top of the 6th, and scored 9 in the bottom of the 6th to win it 23-9. WestPoint was led by Canaan Baum 3-4 with 4 RBI and Tyler Cowles, who is the league leader in walks, walked all 4 times he came up scoring 3 runs. Over on the Red Marucci field with the wind blowing out to left field, Ataraxis/Sonny’s/JBL/NewBreed/Koval/BAF (MD-AA) who won the Las Vegas Major to open the season, overpowered Chick-fil-a scoring 10 in the top of the 2nd and winning in 5 innings 27-12. Ataraxis out homered Chick-fil-a 10-4 and were led by Brock Frentzel, Chris Greinert, and Josh McAdams who were a combined 11-14 with 4 HR, 14 RBI, and 11 runs scored. The first 8 batters in the Ataraxis lineup all homered in the win. Over in the stadium RoofX/Thunder/BD/CE/Chosen/RF/Pure (IN-Major) the #2 seed in the tournament scored 14 runs in the top of the 1st inning and cruised past Fisher’s 31-4 in 4 innings as leadoff hitter Jeremy Fry, new pickup Chris Anninos, and pitcher Patrick Center all were on base 4-4. They out homered Fisher’s 10-1. Over on Red Wilson with the wind blowing out Primetime/Marucci/Ballhawk (GA-A) down 10-3 after two innings to last years ‘A’ World Champs and new ‘AA’ team I-57 Roofing/AXE/SHIRTSandLOGOS (IL-AA). Then Primetime outscored I-57 26-14 the rest of the way and pulled off the upset 29-24. Primetime out homered I-57 11-6 as Jarvis Riggins led the team with a 5-5, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 4 runs scored performance. In the lower half of the bracket on Red Easton Legendz pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament so far as they scored 7 in the first and 8 in the 7th to beat the newly revamped Juno Athletics/LSR (NJ-Major) team 22-3 with the wind gusting in from center field. Both teams hit 2 home runs and Legendz was led by former Juno player Matt Mosel who went 4-4 with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored. A depleted Proton/Str8play/Rebel (CA-Major) missing Brandon Streets, Dan Herren, Bill Pinkham, and Joey Capparelli beat Dirty Vegas 21-12 by scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the 6th which included a grand slam by Chad Erickson. Proton out homered Dirty Vegas 8-3 as Jeff Roxby went 5-5 with 2 HR and 8 RBI in the win. Resmondo-SIS-Skoni-StubTerm-RDD-S&S (FL-Major) the #1 seed based off of the final 2024 Conference points, made quick work of Top Shelf 26-5 scoring 13 runs in the bottom of the 1st and leaving them on the field in the bottom of the 4th. Newly acquired Jeremy Yates hitting 2nd and Bradley Jones hitting 3rd were each 4-4 in the win with Yates hitting 2 HR and driving in 7 runs. Resmondo out homered Top Shelf 6-1 in the game. And Cheap Suits/Republic Realty (CA-A) playing their rival Bay Area Legends (CA-TBD) with the sun in the batters eyes on Red Easton scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win 6-5 on a Nic Guillen walk off single. I heard there were 11 strikeouts in this game due to the sun. Conference directors should never schedule a game on Red Easton at 8 am in the morning for the Hall of Fame Dual or any World tournaments.
The long first day of softball continued Thursday afternoon with the quarterfinals. WestPoint in a re-match of the Las Vegas Championship against Ataraxis, scored 8 in bottom of the 1st inning and separated in the bottom of the 4th 16-4 as John Radich and Kyle Fisher both homered to center with the wind blowing across the Red Marucci field from left to right. After Ataraxis couldn’t answer in the top of the 5th, WestPoint left them on the field 19-4. Joey Kampfer and Canaan Baum each had 2 HR and 5 RBI in the win. RoofX up in the stadium jumped out to a 20-4 lead on Primetime but only managed to win 24-18 in 7 innings out homering Primetime 5-1. Andrew Collins led the RoofX offense by going 4-4 with a homer and 6 RBI. Proton with the wind blowing straight in from center field on Red Easton got out to leads of 6-1 and 13-4 on Legendz and won 18-10. Proton led by pitcher Dan Kirkwood and Jeff Roxby who were on base 5-5 as the team just kept hitting singles like little daggers into the wind and scoring on two out goodies. Ben Young for Legendz hit the only home run. And back in the stadium with the wind blowing out (it changed during the day multiple times) Resmondo scored at least 4 runs in all 5 innings beating Cheap Suits 33-14 as the top of the Resmondo lineup Marshburn, Kyle Pearson, and Jeremy Yates all went 5-5. Pearson hit 3 HR as Resmondo out homered Cheap Suits 11-7.
Resmondo’s new/old lefty Jeremy Yates hits against Proton in the semifinals.
The semifinals then began in the stadium around 3:30 pm. WestPoint went down in order 1-2-3 to start their game against RoofX who went up 3-0 on a Tyler Ervine bomb to right center. In the top of the 2nd WestPoint zeroed again but in the top of the 3rd they hit 3 home runs to tie the game at 4-4. In the top of the 4th WestPoint grabbed a 7-4 lead but it would have been more but for a great play by Joe Joe Bennett in right field snatching a ball that was headed for the grandstands. In the bottom of the 4th Austyn Dawe hit a 3 run homer to tie the game at 7-7 and RoofX went on to score 8 in the inning, 5 with 2 outs to take a 12-7 lead. From there RoofX won 16-14 in a game which neither team really seemed to want to win. WestPoint actually out homered RoofX 7-4 in the game but RoofX was led by Terry Lambright who was 4-4. In semifinal #2 with the wind blowing from left to right across the field at 15 mph, Resmondo pitcher Travis Clark got a strike out looking and a near swing and a miss strikeout in the top of the 1st inning against Proton. After shutting them down again in the top of the 2nd, Resmondo increased their lead to 10-0 on a 3 run homer by leadoff hitter Tyler Marshburn and 4 doubles. Clark continued to get mishits the entire game as Resmondo cruised to a 23-8 win, leaving Proton on the field in a 5 run bottom of the 5th. Resmondo out homered Proton 8-1 and were led by Kyle Pearson who was 4-4 with 2 HR and 5 RBI.
Resmondo’s Everett Williams hits against RoofX in the Dual #1 winner’s final Thursday night.
The winner’s bracket finals started early Thursday evening and it was the #1 seed Resmondo vs #2 RoofX. RoofX led 10-7 after two complete innings as they gave away 3 runs on a throwing error in the top of the 2nd. In the top of the 3rd RoofX held Resmondo to just 1 run as center fielder Brandon Yoder made a spectacular home run robbing catch in deep left center field. In the bottom of the 3rd RoofX put up a zero as Resmondo pitcher Travis Clark continued to get popouts and RoofX 3rd baseman Austyn Dawe reached into the stands to snare a foul ball to hold Resmondo to zero. In the top of the 5th the RoofX defense continued as they got a 5-10-3 double play and in the bottom of the inning Resmondo middle infielder Heath Barnes made a great diving stop towards shortstop threw to 1st for the out and then shortstop Tyler Marshburn made a nice play in the 5-6 hole. But RoofX still led 13-10. In the top of the 6th Yoder in CF made a diving catch but Jeremy Yates hit a laser homer to put Resmondo up 15-13. In the bottom of the 6th with this game feeling like no one would take control, RoofX grabbed back the lead on a Jeremy Fry 3 run backside homer and they had a bunch of 2 out runs as they scored 18 runs on 7 doubles and 3 homer’s and left Resmondo on the field 31-15 when Kyle “Cheese” Miller who pinch hit earlier in the inning got his second at bat and knocked in the run rule winning run. Jeremy Fry was 5-5 with 5 RBI and 6 Runs and Tyler Ervine 5-5, 3 HR, and 7 RBI in the win.
The loser’s bracket of Dual #1 played out all day Thursday. Sports Reach won 4 straight games before WestPoint who had sent them to the loser’s bracket in the 1st game of the day dropped down and beat them again, this time 13-12 to make it to Sunday. And Juno Athletics who lost their 1st game of the tournament, beat Dirty Vegas 16-11, Primetime 24-4, Ataraxis 24-22, and Proton 21-19 late Thursday night to make it to Friday’s “Final 4”. And thus, Sports Reach and Proton finished tied for 5th.
Friday Recap
Friday morning Dual #1 – Juno’s Mitch Lendenski leads off against Westpoint’s Kyle Johnson.
At 8 am Friday morning a banged up and tired Juno team faced WestPoint in the 4th place game. Juno grabbed an early lead when Donnie Walsh went over the scoreboard for one of the longest home runs of the tournament. Then WestPoint’s Rich Racobaldo took the lead back 6-4 on a 2 out 2 run homer in the bottom of the 2nd. The wind was blowing out to center field at 4 miles per hour. In the top of the 3rd Juno went up 7-6 on a John Williams 2 run triple and increased it to 10-6 on a Walsh triple. In the bottom of the 3rd WestPoint’s Joey Kampfer hit a 2 out 3 run homer to tie the game, and they went up 14-10 in the bottom of the 4th on a Ryan Ramirez 2 run homer after blanking Juno in the top of the inning. In the top of the 6th Juno’s Donnie Walsh struck again hitting a 3 run laser homer to straight away center field to go up 17-16. In that top of the 6th Juno scored 19 runs total including a Josh Riley grand slam and 7 home runs and Juno went on to beat WestPoint who never gave up 33-26.
Loser’s Final Dual #1 – Juno’s Matt Valencia hits against Resmondo’s Travis Clark.
In the loser’s final it was an even more tired and banged up Juno team taking on Resmondo. Resmondo center fielder Cory Briggs shut down the right center gap in the top of the 1st recording all 3 put outs. In the top of the 2nd Juno left the bases loaded. But in the top of the 3rd a Bishop Harris single tied the game at 7-7 and in the bottom half of the inning Resmondo went down in order 1-2-3. In the bottom of the 4th Resmondo’s Tyler Marshburn hit a 2 out 3 run homer to put them up 11-10. Juno answered in the top of the 6th get a 2 out pinch hit by last year’s rookie of the year Matt Valencia to take the lead and then a line drive laser homer to center field by Brandon Jackson and a 2 run homer by Mason Farmer to go up 19-11. In the bottom of the 6th Brandon Jackson in left field made some more nice catches as he had been doing the whole game but Resmondo scored 7 to cut the lead to 22-21. In the top of the 7th Juno had some two out clutch hits to increase the lead to 4 and then in the bottom of the 7th Mason Farmer got Yates to fly out and Jones fouled out for an unlikely 2 run win! Donnie Walsh for Juno was 6-6 with 2 HR and 4 walks in the win as Juno out homered Resmondo 8-5.
The championship of Dual #1 then started around noon in great weather. RoofX scored 3 in the top of the 1st but the inning ended on a double play. Juno put up a zero in the bottom of the 2nd and bottom of the 3rd but trailed just 4-0. RoofX increased their lead to 6-0 in the 3rd and 10-4 in the 4th scoring a number 2 out home runs against pitcher Jacob Neal. In the top of the 5th RoofX scored on 3 – 2 run homers and scored 9 for the inning to go up 19-5 and shut out Juno the rest of the way to win the tournament 20-5. They out homered Juno 9-2. Dual #2 starts Friday!
Dual #2 started at 3:30 pm on Friday just 2 hours after the first dual finished. In the 5 “play in” games SRC/Hype the very good non-conference ‘A’ team from Florida upset Chick-fil-a 10-6 with the wind blowing in on Red Wilson. Fisher’s beat F1’s 16-15 outscoring F1’s 3-2 in the 8th inning, hitting 3 home runs in the 8th after only hitting 2 the whole game. Fisher’s Daniel Stoltzfus led the offense – 4-5, 2 HR, and 4 RBI. WestPoint with the wind gusting out on Red Easton scored 11 in the 1st, 12 in the 2nd, and 16 in the 3rd to beat Wicked Mitts 40-19 as John Radich, Tyler Cowles, Joey Kampfer, and Greg Popatak each reached base 5 times and Ryan Ramirez drove in 8 runs. In the “Round of 16” which was also played on Friday night, Sports Reach gutted out a 10-1 win over Legendz with the wind blowing in on Red Wilson, as pitcher Mark Blaziewske held Legendz to just 4 hits in 7 innings. Proton playing on the same field led SRC the non-conference ‘A’ team 10-0 going into the 7th and won 10-3 as Ryan Harvey hit the only home run and leadoff hitter Dan Kirkwood was 3-3. Kirkwood also held SRC to just 8 hits in the game. RoofX made the trip back to Red Marucci where the wind was blowing straight out and they made short work of Fisher’s 44-17, scoring 18 runs in the top of the 2nd and 11 more in the top of the 4th. They out homered Fisher’s 14-1 and were led by Joe Joe Bennett, Joey Miller, and Brandon Yoder who were all on base 5 times. RoofX had 30 extra base hits in their teams 4 half innings. With the wind blowing out on Red Easton, Cheap Suits took down fellow ‘A’ team Primetime 32-23, out homering them 8-7. In the stadium Resmondo scored 18 in the bottom of the 2nd and beat SNI 32-12 in 4 innings as Kyle Pearson was 4-5 with 3 HR and 6 RBI while Yates, Matusik, Matte, Briggs, and Reckart were all perfect on base as well, and they out homered SNI 12-1. And I-57 run ruled Bay Area Legends 18-3 on the Red Marucci field scoring 12 in the top of the 3rd inning on a home run by Zane Migues and a bunch of doubles.
I-57 Roofing’s Nic Perkins hits one out of dead center field.
Friday concluded with the quarterfinals at 7:30 PM. Proton beat Sports Reach in extra innings on a bases loaded one out walk off single by Anthony Acevedo even though Sports Reach out homered Proton in the game 6-1. RoofX scored 12 in the top of the 1st and 10 in the top of the 5th to run rule Cheap Suits 29-12, out homering them 9-1. RoofX was led by Arlis Miller 5-5, 3 HR, and 7 RBI while Joey Miller and Austyn Dawe were 4-4. Juno run ruled Ataraxis 38-23. And in what may have been the best game of Dual #2, I-57 upset Resmondo 25-17 in the stadium 25-17. I-57 scored in every inning, they got a grand slam to dead center field by Nick Perkins, held Resmondo scoreless in the 4th and 5th, got a 2 out inside the park grand slam by Christian Glisson in the top of the 7th inning, and turned a double play to end the game. “Lazer” Dave Johnson led the I-57 offense 5-5 with 4 runs scored.
Saturday Recap
RoofX takes on Proton in the semifinals of Dual #2 with Jeremy Fry hitting.
On Saturday the semifinals were played starting at noon in the stadium with the wind blowing out which made for some wild games. RoofX went up on Proton 28-11 before Proton scored 12 in the bottom of the 4th to cut the lead to 5 on a Bryan Dezern 2 out 3 run homer. But RoofX outscored Proton down the stretch 26-11 including a 14 run top of the 7th inning to win it 54-34. The highest run total of any game at the dual. Jeremy Fry, Tyler Ervine, Joe Bennett, and Terry Lambright all reached safely 7 times in the game. Bennett had 8 RBI as RoofX used all 16 of their home runs. And Jeremy Fry hit for the cycle as RoofX had 59 hits in the game including 18 doubles, 6 triples, and 16 home runs. In semifinal #2 Juno scored 4 on 2 to start against I-57 who flashed some good infield defense. In the top of the 2nd Juno went up 11-2 on a barrage of doubles and triples and in the bottom of the 2nd John Williams made a leaping stab of a liner at shortstop and doubled off a runner to shut down I-57. In the top of the 4th Josh Riley hit a 2 out 3 run homer to put Juno up 18-9 but I-57 cut the lead to 18-14 in the bottom of the 4th on a Cody Roton 3 run homer of their own. In the top of the 5th I-57 continued to be snake bit on close calls, Riley hit another homer, and Donnie Walsh went over the scoreboard again, and Juno advanced to the winner’s final 32-16.
The winner’s final early Saturday evening was a very odd game. Juno got a Donnie Walsh grand slam to the batter’s eye and a line drive homer from Buddy Wolf early to go up 34-12 on RoofX after scoring 19 runs in the top of the 3rd. An inning where Juno hit 8 home runs. Then the wind shifted out to right field in the middle of the game and RoofX managed to score 11 in the bottom of the 4th to avoid the run rule and they shut out Juno in the top of the 5th. In the top of the 7th with Juno up 40-32 they got a clutch 2 out 2 run homer from Matt Valencia to increase the lead to 10. In the bottom of the 7th RoofX, down 10, managed to score 8 on 7 extra base hits but lost 42-40. It was RoofX’s first loss of the season. Donnie Walsh was 6-7 with 4 HR, 12 RBI, and 6 runs scored in the win for Juno.
The loser’s bracket played all day Saturday in the Red Quad. Cheap Suits upset ‘AA’ teams WestPoint and Sports Reach before losing to I-57 Roofing 30-15. And Resmondo, buried deep in the loser’s bracket, beat SRC 34-4, Ataraxis 46-31, Proton 44-27, and had a late Saturday night revenge win over I-57 Roofing 31-11 in the 4th place game to make it to Sunday.
Proton’s Anthony Acevedo hits a walk off single to beat Sports Reach in extra innings.
Sunday Recap
Resmondo left fielder Bradley Jones robbed two home runs against RoofX Sunday morning.
On Sunday morning at 8 am the air was cool and crisp at 60 degrees and it was RoofX and Resmondo in the loser’s bracket finals. RoofX got out to a 20-11 lead but it would have been worse except for 2 home run robbing catches by Resmondo left fielder Bradley Jones. RoofX also was flashing the leather as Jeremy Fry made two great plays and Austyn Dawe one in the infield in the bottom of the 2nd to hold Resmondo scoreless. Heath Barnes also hit a 2 out grand slam for Resmondo and Jeremy Fry had a 2 out inside the park homer for RoofX. It was an entertaining game as Resmondo pitcher Travis Clark stabbed 5 middle shots. Resmondo went down in order 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 5th. And both teams pitched around hot hitters like Dawe and Kyle Pearson to get out of bases loaded jams. In the top of the 7th Resmondo got a great defensive play on a hot shot to 1st by Kyle Pearson to hold RoofX to one run, and down 26-24 going into the bottom of the 7th it looked like Resmondo would pull it out. Jason Matusik doubled to start the inning, Phil Matte flew out, and Greg Connell singled to pull them to within 1 run. But Travis Clark and Cory Briggs flew out and RoofX advanced to the championship 26-25.
In the Dual #2 championship a beat up but undefeated Juno team scored 12 runs in the top of the 3rd inning on big home runs by Matt Valencia and Joe Boland and Juno pitcher Mason Farmer got a strike out looking in the bottom of the 3rd with Juno up 15-11. In the bottom of the 4th though, RoofX base hit their way to 9 runs and a 20-9 lead and they had a 2 out rally in the bottom of the 5th hitting 4 solo home runs to go up 28-27. RoofX then shut out Juno in the top of the 7th forcing the “if” game.
In the “if” game Juno after trailing 4-0 in the 1st inning, reached down deep scoring 14 runs in the top of the 2nd inning and led 32-13 going into the bottom of the 5th where RoofX managed just 4 runs and lost by the 15 run mercy rule. Juno was your Dual #2 champ!

Hall of Fame Classic Dual #1 Results and Awards
RoofX middle infielder Jeremy Fry was MVP of Dual #1.

Team by Team Notes
Tied 1st – RoofX/Thunder/BD/CE/Chosen/RF/Pure IN-M
Avg Finish: 1.5 Record: 10-2
Dual #1 1st (5-0) Runs: 24.2 Allowed: 11.4 Diff: 12.8
Dual #2 2nd (5-2) Runs: 34.3 Allowed: 27.0 Diff: 7.3
RoofX scored a 1st and a 2nd at a tournament where they didn’t get either a year ago. This shows their improvement on baseball fields which is promising and is a step forward in the quest for the Conference points title and the #1 seed at the Major World Series which they let slip away a year ago. They played good defense long enough to let their offense take over in the big games. Patrick Center did most of the pitching with Austyn Dawe doing some nice relief pitching. The new pickups Dawe, Joe Bennett, Andrew Collins, and the most underrated player in softball – Chris Anninos played well. They were missing Ryan Mcclanahan who is just going to be part time this year (kids baseball). Dawe led the offense .813, 15 HR, 42 RBI.
Tied 1st – Juno Athletics / LSR NJ-M
Avg Finish: 1.5 Record: 11-3
Dual #1 2nd (6-2) Runs: 18.9 Allowed: 18.4 Diff: 0.5
Dual #2 1st (5-1) Runs: 33.7 Allowed: 24.8 Diff: 8.8
Juno scored some huge points and finished better in both events than they did in any single event in 2024. Adding Riley, Wolf, Lendenski, Harris, Nevoso, and Rainer adds some depth to the lineup. Farmer’s pitching and hitting is getting better and Jacob Neal is now the backup pitcher who always does a nice job. Donnie Walsh was crushing the home runs and had some huge games against the other Major teams. Bishop Harris at middle infield was doing his best Heath Barnes imitation especially on offense with a bunch of extra base hits and a non stop motor.
3rd Place – Resmondo-SIS-Skoni-StubTerm-RDD-S&S FL-M
Avg Finish: 3.0 Record: 8-4
Dual #1 3rd (3-2) Runs: 24.0 Allowed: 16.4 Diff: 7.6
Dual #2 3rd (5-2) Runs: 32.7 Allowed: 19.4 Diff: 13.3
Resmondo who won the 2023 and 2024 Major World Series, struggled some at the Dual this year after winning both Dual tournaments a year ago. They had some injuries as Jeremy Yates who was leading the team in hitting went down with calf injury. Bubba Mack a rib injury. And Everett Williams “couldn’t get loose” in the 2nd dual. Travis Clark was able to get more mishits than any other pitcher. And Kyle Pearson hit .833 to open the season which means he is headed for another batting title. Resmondo dropped Connecticut from their schedule and added the Seattle Dual. Probably a move to try and get back in the points race.
4th Place – Proton/Str8play/Rebel CA-M
Avg Finish: 5.0 Record: 4-4
Dual #1 5th (2-2) Runs: 16.5 Allowed: 16.5 Diff: 0.0
Dual #2 5th (2-2) Runs: 22.3 Allowed: 29.0 Diff: -6.8
Proton lost all 4 of their games to Major teams and are now 0-4 vs Major on the season. But they did handle their business against the non-major teams as they wait for injured players like Brandon Streets and Joey Capparelli to come back healthy. They also played without Dan Herren who wasn’t there so they were missing 3 of their top 4 batters in the lineup. There is some question as to whether or not they actually picked up pitcher Bill Pinkham? The stats below include Las Vegas.
5th Place – Reach/Demarini/Worshams/RedAthlete KY-AA
Avg Finish: 6.0 Record: 6-4
Dual #1 5th (4-2) Runs: 18.8 Allowed: 13.7 Diff: 5.2
Dual #2 7th (2-2) Runs: 19.5 Allowed: 17.3 Diff: 2.3
Thanks to KL Photo Bliss for the Sports Reach team picture shown above. Sports Reach went 0-1 vs Major, 1-2 vs ‘AA’, and 4-1 vs ‘A’ but still wind up with the best average finish out of the ‘AA’ teams. They return a core of players from 2024 and add in former Major players Josh Fyffe, Steele Lewis, Scott Hartling, and Jason Magnum, as well as infielder Jordan Robinson, and the return of pitcher Brandon Jonas.
6th Place – WestPoint IN-AA
Avg Finish: 6.5 Record: 5-4
Dual #1 4th (3-2) Runs: 19.0 Allowed: 14.8 Diff: 4.2
Dual #2 9th (2-2) Runs: 29.5 Allowed: 23.8 Diff: 5.8
Westpoint beat Sports Reach, Ataraxis, and Sports Reach again to finish 4th in the 1st dual. And when they play the Major teams they are playing 7 innings and competing. Adam Kaminski, Canaan Baum, and Joey Kampfer’s backside homer’s led the offense. They played without Filip Washington. Kyle Johnson did the starting pitching while Roger Fields was the backup. The stats below include Las Vegas.
Tied 7th – ATARAXIS/SONNYS/JBLNEWBREEDKOVALBAF MD-AA
Avg Finish: 7.0 Record: 4-4
Dual #1 7th (2-2) Runs: 18.8 Allowed: 15.5 Diff: 3.3
Dual #2 7th (2-2) Runs: 24.3 Allowed: 31.0 Diff: -6.8
Ataraxis had an up and down weekend and finishes 4-4 at the HOF after winning Las Vegas. Mooch did most of the pitching. Brock Frentzel and Chris Greinert paced the offense. The stats below include Las Vegas.
Tied 7th – Cheap Suits /REPUBLIC REALTY /ESP CA-A
Avg Finish: 7.0 Record: 4-4
Dual #1 9th (1-2) Runs: 11.0 Allowed: 17.3 Diff: -6.3
Dual #2 5th (3-2) Runs: 25.6 Allowed: 27.0 Diff: -1.4
Cheap Suits was best in class out of the ‘A’ teams. Daniel Cayton led the offense with 11 HR as they beat Primetime, WestPoint, Sports Reach, and Bay Area. Cheap Suits picked up Josh Jones before the tournament and he pitched along with Billy Malovrh. Also some bad news, Juan Castenada’s shoulder injury will keep him out most, if not all of, 2025. The stats below include Las Vegas.
9th Place – Primetime/Marucci/Ballhawk GA-A
Avg Finish: 9.0 Record: 3-4
Dual #1 9th (1-2) Runs: 17.3 Allowed: 24.0 Diff: -6.7
Dual #2 9th (2-2) Runs: 23.3 Allowed: 16.8 Diff: 6.5
Primetime had an upset win over I-57 Roofing to start Dual #1. They were led by the steady veteran offensive presence of Ira Brown (.778). They picked up Sir Francis Fisk from LSR and Mike Williams returns from JBL. Rod Armour and Sean Ulmer did the pitching.
10th Place – Legendz/Beloli/MSGA Sports OK-A
Avg Finish: 10.0 Record: 4-4
Dual #1 7th (3-2) Runs: 17.0 Allowed: 13.6 Diff: 3.4
Dual #2 13th (1-2) Runs: 10.3 Allowed: 12.7 Diff: -2.3
Legendz is the combo ‘A’ team between the 2024 Legendz and Ely Reel squads. They upset the Juno Atheltics Major team and played a number of other good teams close. They also played in a crazy amount of windy games but overall a solid start to 2025. Daniel Overa did the pitching. They hit just 14 HR in 8 games which shows you how much wind they were dealing with.
11th Place – I-57 Roofing/AXE/SHIRTSandLOGOS/SA IL-AA
Avg Finish: 10.5 Record: 3-4
Dual #1 17th (0-2) Runs: 19.0 Allowed: 25.5 Diff: -6.5
Dual #2 4th (3-2) Runs: 20.0 Allowed: 19.6 Diff: 0.4
I-57 joins the ‘AA’ division picking up Dave Johnson, Jordan Spaulding, and Christian Glisson. They went 0-2 in Dual #1 after losing to Primetime in their opener. But they recovered to finish 4th in Dual #2 after beating Bay Area, upsetting Resmondo in the stadium, and then beating Cheap Suits in the loser’s bracket. Orlando Olivera suffered a broken hand in Dual #1 and will be out until the Memphis Major and Jake Hathaway was playing with a bad back. But overall they showed they still have that upset ability as pitcher Mitch Carriger has now slayed many a dragon over the past 3 years. Also Laser Dave lost 50 pounds but was still hitting lasers to the tune of a .781 on base percentage and the I-57 defense can turn it up a notch when they need to.
12th Place – F1s/DS/Proton/Prime/Trillstar TX-TBD
Avg Finish: 11.0 Record: 3-4
Dual #1 9th (2-2) Runs: 18.8 Allowed: 19.8 Diff: -1.0
Dual #2 13th (1-2) Runs: 24.3 Allowed: 13.7 Diff: 10.7
F1’s knocked I-57 Roofing out of Dual #1, split with Fisher’s, and played a bunch of close games against good teams which is just what this team needed.
Tied 13th Place – DIRTY VEGAS/BDC/ARK CONCEPTS TX-A
Avg Finish: 13.0 Record: 4-4
Dual #1 13th (2-2) Runs: 14.3 Allowed: 13.5 Diff: 0.8
Dual #2 13th (2-2) Runs: 17.0 Allowed: 18.5 Diff: -1.5
Dirty Vegas only lost to Major and ‘AA’ teams and nearly pulled off upsets of Ataraxis and Chick-fil-a. Sport Williams and Scott Patterson did the pitching. The stats below include Las Vegas.
Tied 13th Place – SRC/HypeSports/CutFactory FL-A
Avg Finish: 13.0 Record: 3-4
Dual #1 17th (0-2) Runs: 14.5 Allowed: 20.5 Diff: -6.0

SRC is a non-conference ‘A’ team out of Florida who upset Chick-fil-a, and beat Team Proaxion and Legendz in dual #2. The roster includes veterans Peter Seiden, Donnie Hammonds, Tyler Marlette, and Chris Waterman among others.
Tied 13th Place – Bay Area Legends CA-TBD
Avg Finish: 13.0 Record: 2-4
Dual #1 9th (2-2) Runs: 7.5 Allowed: 9.8 Diff: -2.3
Dual #2 17th (0-2) Runs: 7.0 Allowed: 32.0 Diff: -25.0
Bay Area Legends had the unfortunate luck of playing most of their games with the wind blowing in or the sun in the batter’s eyes. The results were single digit games and only two wins over Top Shelf and SNI. They were missing players like Chente Granados and Jared Hunt. Hunt is playing a limited schedule.
Tied 13th Place – Fishers/StoltzfusWelding/All Hustle PA-B
Avg Finish: 13.0 Record: 2-4
Dual #1 13th (1-2) Runs: 12.3 Allowed: 21.3 Diff: -9.0
Dual #2 13th (1-2) Runs: 12.0 Allowed: 27.7 Diff: -15.7
Last years USSSA ‘C’ World champion Fisher’s out of Pennsylvania moves up to the Conference ‘B’ this year and pulled off two wins at the dual over F1’s and SNI and played a number of close games. Speed and defense is the hallmark of this team.
Tied 13th Place – SNI/LOB/DEMARINI FL-A
Avg Finish: 13.0 Record: 2-4
Dual #1 17th (0-2) Runs: 10.0 Allowed: 12.0 Diff: -2.0
Dual #2 9th (2-2) Runs: 12.0 Allowed: 20.0 Diff: -8.0
Scott Napierata returns to men’s conference as a sponsor/manager of the new SNI ‘A’ team. You will recognize some veteran names on the roster like pitchers Dan Sanchez & Dustin Midyette, as well as infielder Tommy Melton, outfielder Brandon Hooks, hitting specialist David McDowell, and Challenge Cup rookie sensation Henry Campbell. A good and unexpected addition to the 2025 Conference. They beat Top Shelf and F1’s in dual #2.
Tied 18th – Chick-fil-A/Shore OL/LS/Skyren/BAF VA-AA
Avg Finish: 15.0 Record: 2-4
Dual #1 13th (2-2) Runs: 19.3 Allowed: 23.0 Diff: -3.8
Dual #2 17th (0-2) Runs: 10.0 Allowed: 12.5 Diff: -2.5
Chick-fil-a sponsor/pitcher John Natolly returns to the Conference with a bunch of their ex-players rejoining the team. On paper they are an excellent ‘AA’ team but they got off to a slow start and their only wins were against non-conference teams. Justin Ogletree who played the last year with Sports Reach did the pitching. Looking at the roster, offense shouldn’t be an issue this year. They play in Texas this weekend where they won one of the dual tournaments two years ago over Resmondo.
Tied 18th – Top Shelf/Mr.Gutter/F2B FL-B
Avg Finish: 15.0 Record: 3-4
Dual #1 13th (1-2) Runs: 10.7 Allowed: 15.0 Diff: -4.3
Dual #2 17th (0-2) Runs: 11.0 Allowed: 19.5 Diff: -8.5
Top Shelf’s only win was against F1’s. They hit just 6 HR in 5 games, showing how hard it is to hit homer’s on the baseball fields.
Tied 20th – Team Proaxion Canada-A
Avg Finish: 17.0 Record: 0-4
Dual #1 17th (0-2) Runs: 11.5 Allowed: 22.5 Diff: -11.0
Dual #2 17th (0-2) Runs: 10.0 Allowed: 15.0 Diff: -5.0
The Proaxion Canadian ‘A’ team went 0-4 but only lost one game by the run rule. Sometimes they make the trip to Florida and pull some big upsets, and sometimes they don’t. But it is always good to have them and we shall see them again in Connecticut in May.
Tied 20th – Wicked Mitts/ Stroke of Magic AL-B
Avg Finish: 17.0 Record: 0-4
Dual #1 17th (0-2) Runs: 7.5 Allowed: 24.0 Diff: -16.5
Dual #2 17th (0-2) Runs: 20.0 Allowed: 32.0 Diff: -12.0
