Cheap Suits made a habit of finishing off great comebacks!
Conference USSSA wrapped up the 2024 regular season in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Lakeside Park and its 5 – 315 foot fields. There were 14 teams overall and 4 Conference teams in the tournament and it was the 4 Conference teams that each took a different path to the final 4 finishing positions. CutThroatSports/CourseyRlty/Soares (CA-B) lost in the “Round of 8” to Smoke/TopNotch/Levels/CompleteAuto (CO-B) 28-19 and then won 3 in a row before losing to Bay Area Legends (CA-A) 39-18 to finish 4th. NFMLending/KB/Chasse/BeHappy (AZ-A) looked like the most focused ‘A’ team and on their way to a tournament win when Cheap Suits/Republic Realty/ESP (CA-A) jumped all over them in the winner’s final and NFM ended up losing 35-30. Then NFM lost to Bay Area Legends in the loser’s final to finish 3rd. And Bay Area Legends who had lost their 1st game of the tournament Friday night with the sun in their eyes 19-18 to Bennett Homes/Remax/BCC/SFC (UT-B) then went on a 5 game win streak to get to the championship Saturday night against Cheap Suits. In the final game a visibly tired Bay Area team had a nice 25-20 lead going into the bottom of the 7th and Cheap Suits had no home runs left to hit. But Cheap Suits who had pulled off dramatic come from behind wins all weekend, first against Blue Ox Friday night and then against Smoke on Saturday afternoon, did it again drawing 5 walks and winning on a walk off pinch hit by Justice Aranda off the left center field fence. This was Cheap Suits 3rd Conference tournament win of the season and they are currently 9th in the Conference Points standings and the #1 ‘A’ team in the country.

Derby Girls roll to 7th tournament win of the season!

Derby Girls/OA/Miken/Easton/Worth put up some big numbers even with the wind blowing in at the Lakeside Park in Salt Lake City, Utah and went undefeated (4-0) to win their 7th Conference tournament of the season. They knocked off MyAutoJack/BluePearl/GrahamSports (AZ-A) in the winner’s final 18-6 and the championship 19-8. The win moves them to within 16 points of LaFamiglia in the Conference Points standings going into the Conference Championship tournament in Alabama mid September.
