The men’s USSSA ‘A’ World begins Friday, October 3rd at 9 AM with 30 teams and finishes up Saturday early evening. Recent ‘A’ Worlds have had a vast amount of early round upsets which should occur again this year. Usually 3 or 4 of the top 6 seeds lose in the 1st two rounds and look for at least 1 ‘B’ team to make it into the Final 4 of the winner’s bracket especially with the temp fences being set at 325 feet with the Dudley Pro-M ball being used. The championship and “if” game are set for 4:45 and 6:30 PM Saturday and the ‘AA’ World begins Sunday morning. Any team that wants their team photo taken, just let me know, and as always we have to take team pictures for the final 4 teams. The teams most likely to win these ‘A’ Worlds are the ones with twice as many wins vs the ‘A’ division as losses. So Dirty Vegas and PrimeTime are the statistical favorites to win. Bay Area Legends is the #1 seed and Cheap Suits is the #2 and are favored to win the tournament with their extensive experience and deep rosters. Legendz came on strong at the end of the season after making a few roster tweaks. BeHappy made that unlikely run at the Smoky Mountain Classic. SNI is the new ‘A’ team on the block with a number of players from Florida. Primetime has made final 4 runs in the recent past and won the BSC and USSSA Black American Worlds already this year. And Proaxion is the only non-conference ‘A’ team in the tournament and they are from Canada and finished 2nd at the USSSA ‘B’ Worlds two years ago.
