“Windy City” Major
Carol Stream, Illinois
June 2-4
Tournament Preview
2023 Windy City bracket and team list link
The “Windy City” major is this Friday through Sunday and it is a smaller event this year with just 19 teams (11 Conference) from 13 different states on the men’s side and 8 teams (3 Conference) on the women’s side. Conference USSSA will take to the fields in Carol Stream, Illinois outside of Chicago at 5 PM Central time and the men finish on Sunday morning. The women start and end on Saturday. The infields at McCaslin park are turf and the temperatures are only supposed to reach into the low 90’s. The ball usually flies at McCaslin park depending upon which field you are on and what the wind is doing. Looking at the bracket there is only one Major team, Competitive Edge, who will be heavily favored but 5 hungry ‘AA’ teams, 6 even more hungry ‘A’ teams, and a couple of more of those feisty Topeka, Indiana teams (Rock Run and Cedar Creek) look to pull some upsets as traditionally happens in Chicago. Last year the Chicago event had 29 Conference teams and Nitro Circus and Westpoint ‘A’ teams finished 2nd and 4th! Resmondo the #1 team in the nation takes their first conference event off after playing the first 7 tournaments of the Conference season. There will be 180 + (11 x 4) = 224 Conference points to the winner, 184 to 2nd, 164 to 3rd, 154 to 4th and so on.
USSSALive.com will livestream the event and the chat room on ConferenceUSSSA.com will be up for updates and to answer your questions. And don’t forget to fill out your pickem game and win a Juno prize if you happen to win it. And we have live stats links here Windy City BallClubz Stats Link, Windy City Team Stat Totals Link.
