Conference USSSA heads to the “Crown Town” Classic this weekend at the Mid America Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kansas for the 3rd year in a row. They have artificial turf on all of their fields. The men’s Major has 26 teams from from 10 different states and the tournament begins at 5:00 PM CENTRAL time Friday and they bring back 4 teams on Sunday. They will play down to the “Final 8” in the winner’s bracket on Friday night and those 8 will play at 1:15 PM on Saturday afternoon. The field of teams is led by Westpoint Softball (IN-AA) the only ‘AA’ team in the tournament. They will be challenged by DirtyVegas (TX-A), Bay Area Legends (CA-A), Cheap Suits (CA-A), Aristotle (AR-A), Seminoles (OK-A), Siteman (MO-A), and non-conference ‘A’ team T’s 13 from Nebraska. Remember last year T’s 13 made a run in the winner’s bracket and two ‘B’ teams were in the finals with Rock Run and Hubs Pub with Rock Run winning. The fields are 300 feet and they will use the Dudley Pro-M ball with 8-12-14 HR limits. 100 degree temperatures are possible Friday and it is to cool down into the 80’s on Saturday and Sunday with a chance of rain.

REMINDER: Anyone taking game balls can be removed from the park and suspended from their tournament.

On the women’s side there 18 teams in the Arkansas annual Busch tournament in Little Rock. They start on Friday night and end on Sunday with Team 24 being the only Major team and heavy favorite.
