Tournament Preview

The Texas Legends Major is this coming weekend at the all turf fields at Texas Star Park in Euless just outside of Dallas. It features 32 teams from 14 different states with a record 25 of the teams from the Conference USSSA. There will be 4 Major teams, 4 ‘AA’ teams, 10 ‘A’ teams, 11 ‘B’ teams, and 3 ‘C’ teams. The field of teams is as good a field as the Texas Legends tournament has ever had with 8 of the top teams in the country led by the 4 Major teams – Resmondo who won the Las Vegas Major to start the season, Smash It Sports who won the Hall of Fame Dual #1, and Monsta who won the Hall of Fame Dual #2. The Dudley Pro-M ball will be used with 8 to 16 HR limits depending on the class of teams, the weather will be warm and there is some rain forecast for Sunday. The fences there are 300 down the lines and go out to 310 in center field.

Look for the upsets we have had all year to continue and possibly a Westpoint or Seminoles to make a run at the top of the bracket. But in the end on Sunday it will most likely be a Major team or possibly a team like Competitive Edge standing tall. I picked Smash It Sports to win in the Texas Legends pickem game. Last year it was Resmondo coming through the loser’s bracket to win.

The tournament is seeded on 2022 Conference points which puts 3 of the Major teams on the same side of the winner’s bracket. The winning team in Euless, Texas will earn 150 + (25 x 4) = 250 points! With 2nd place getting 210, 3rd-190, 4th-180, 5th-170 etc…

The livestream will be up at USSSALive.com and the SoftballCenter.com Chat Room will be open from Friday through Sunday to discuss the tournament.

The women’s Conference is also in Euless across the street from the men’s fields and they have 8 teams and they start and finish on Saturday. This tournament has 3 major teams – NTL, Lady Klutch, and Team 24.
