The new Chi-Town Classic will be played this Saturday at the old Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet, Illinois the site of the old Windy City Classic. They have new turf down on the fields. There are 6 men’s and 6 women’s teams playing and the tournament will start Saturday morning at 9 AM Central time and finish late Saturday afternoon/early evening. There is a chance of rain in the forecast but the temperatures look to be on the cooler side. A number of teams dropped out of this one just days before the bracket came out. Westpoint softball will be challenged for the win by really the entire field of A and B teams. Look for home state Meitran and Siteman to step it up, Cornerstone has been playing better of late, and the wild card is Comatose who is a non-conference ‘A’ team that is plenty capable of pulling off upsets. Westpoint can jump to 12th in the standings with a win. The women’s bracket is equally interesting as any team can make a run but the favorite is probably Xtreme.
