The 2nd Annual Chattahoochee Major in Columbus, Georgia is this weekend with 17 men’s and 15 women’s teams. On the men’s side 16 of the 17 are Conference teams with all 4 Major teams and 4 ‘AA’ teams in attendance. On the women’s side they have all 5 Women’s Major and 2 ‘AA’ teams. The tournament begins on Friday night and it will be HOT and HUMID all weekend long on the 300 foot fences with the Dudley Pro-M 44/375 ball. With 16 of the 17 teams being from the Conference there will be some really good teams going home 0-2. Monsta will most likely rest pitcher Andrew Vitcak who they hope will be almost healthy for the Smoky. Resmondo has a few players returning from injury but have struggled most of the year. MPT Rentals has yet to win a Major tournament this year. And Smash It Sports has won 4 tournaments and is healthy and most likely the favorite to win again and extend their points lead and they did win last years Chattahoochee Major. The Conference also played in Columbus, Georgia in 2020 (the Covid-19 year) but that tournament was the Conference Championships and not a regular season event. There should be (16 x 4) + 165 = 229 points for the winner. The recent batches of Pro-M balls coupled with high heat and humidity should mean for lower scores than we normally see in Columbus, Georgia. Players and umpires will definitely want to hydrate for this one.

On the women’s side all 15 teams in attendance are Conference teams giving this tournament a Conference Championships type feel to it.
