2021 USSSA Hall of Fame Dual bracket and team list links
The 2021 Nationwide Conference USSSA season continues this coming Thursday, April 8th at 8 AM Eastern time with a 35 team double elimination tournament which will end with the championship game being played on Friday evening. Then starting Friday night and ending Sunday the same 35 teams will play another double elimination tournament. 34 of the teams are from the Nationwide Conference USSSA series and they come from 20 different states! If you are doing the math at home this tournament is worth 150 + (34 x 4) = 286 points to the winner of each event. There are 4 Major teams this year and 23 AA/A teams. The tournament is being held at the USSSA headquarters in Viera, Florida at the Space Coast Stadium Complex with its 5 baseball fields including the Stadium and all of the fields have 325-365-385-365-325 dimensions. They will use a 50 foot pitching rubber and 75 foot bases. All games with an 'A' or above team in it will have a 12 home run limit and games with 2 Major teams in it will have a 16 HR limit. The HR limit does not normally come into play on these fields unless the wind is blowing out. Only the baseball fields are on this years schedule and they will use the Dudley ZN Stadium ball 47/425.
On the women's side they will also play a Dual tournament with the 1st tournament starting Thursday night at 8 PM Eastern and ending Friday at 6 PM with 15 teams and the 2nd dual starts Friday night and ends Saturday night with 16 teams. The favorites are the Las Vegas winner Smash It Sports/Derby Girls and the 2020 defending USSSA Major World Series Champions Team 24.
This is the "Daytona 500" of softball, the most impressive team list of any Major level event in the World. USSSA's top league, the Conference is now using a new 240 bat compression standard that should lead to lower scores and more defense. The season began last weekend with the Las Vegas Major where Smash It Sports/Newbreed beat S&E Enterprise/Worsham in the "if" game. The Major teams Resmondo, Smash It, MPT Rentals, and Proton/Sonny's should be the heavy favorites on the big fields but upsets are the norm during the 4 days of softball where teams in the past have played as many as 19 games!
