The Bash on the Chesapeake Major returns to Glen Burnie, Maryland outside of Baltimore this coming weekend. The tournament features 29 teams from 11 different states, including Major team MPT Rentals/Juno Athletics and 3 'AA' teams Albicocco, S&E, and Sports Reach. 8 of the teams are from the Nationwide Conference USSSA so the winner will get 165 + (3 x 8) = 189 points. The weather looks pretty good and the fields usually play short so home run management and fielding the hard shots off the dirt infields will be key when teams try to keep it in the park. The Bachman Complex has 6 fields which will all be used starting at 8 AM Saturday morning and ending Sunday and they are bringing back 4 teams.
Last year Dan Smith beat Resmondo with Pure Sports 3rd and there were not as many upsets.
I (DW) will be traveling to Maryland on Friday and hope to set up live stream cameras on all 6 fields for the start of the tournament Saturday but at the moment I have just 3 cameras with me. The other 3 are being shipped to my hotel in Maryland but we all know how bad shipping is these days.
