The 2013 Nationwide Conference USSSA season continues in Houston, Texas this weekend at the Space City Classic! This tournament should be extremely entertaining as there is a full bracket of 64 teams. None of the 64 teams have recently won a Nationwide Conference event so it should provide some close games and great competition. Only seven of the teams in the tournament are Nationwide Conference teams, as the Hall of Fame Classic Dual tournament is just a week away.
The favorite is Buzini/BWW/Worth who finished 2nd to Resmondo a year ago. Other favorites will be Fence Brokers/Hubs Pub/GTS/Worth from Arkansas and Baugh Ford/MOJO/Louisville Slugger from Alabama. The tournament will be played at the beautiful Big League Dreams Park which features 6 MLB replica fields.
Teams will begin play on Friday, April 12th at 6 PM central time and will play late into the night both Friday and Saturday to keep the 127 games in on schedule. The live streams for games can be viewed at www.livestream.com/lonestarsoftball and softballcenter.com all throughout the weekend.
ABOUT USSSA SLOW PITCH:
USSSA Slow Pitch is where it all started. In 1968 USSSA was founded, originally called the United States Slo-Pitch Softball Association. While USSSA has since changed their full name to the United States Specialty Sports Association in order to include all of its sports programs, USSSA Slow Pitch is still a huge portion of the USSSA brand, with more teams and participants in USSSA Adult Slow Pitch than any other youth or adult sport program in USSSA. USSSA Slow Pitch ranges from Major Teams to purely Recreational Teams and offers several specialty divisions based on the common interests, experiences, and backgrounds of players.
ABOUT USSSA:
