Kissimmee, FL- Resmondo Specialty Tank Worth won the 14th Annual Texas Legends Major this past weekend by run ruling Backman/Shoppe/Louisville Slugger 50-35 in the winner’s bracket championship game late Saturday night and again 40-9 in the championship game on Sunday. In the final game Resmondo scored 19 runs in the 1st inning and cruised to the title. Resmondo has now won the Texas Legends Major 7 of the last 9 years. The tournament began on Friday night with 29 teams including 13 from the Nationwide Conference USSSA. The games for the most part were pretty close with only a few run rules in the later rounds. Team Combat even had to use a Johnny McCraw walk off homer to beat Texas ‘B’ team Chill Sports Bar & Grill on Friday night 37-36. In the final 8 it was all conference teams remaining except for Steel/SuncoastSportz.com a ‘C’ team from Texas who upset JOCO/Adiktiv/Easton 32-17 to get there.
In the final 8, all 4 games were decided by 4 runs or less. Resmondo batted around in the 6th inning against ASPNation/Dynasty/Reset/Easton and hung on to win 24-22. B&B Drywall/Easton, a ‘C’ team out of Missouri who has played well all year knocked off Line Drive Sportz/R&M Metals/Easton 28-24 after beating Fence Brokers 24-16. In the top half of the bracket, Slattery Logistics upset Team Combat 37-36, and Backman/Shoppe just got past Steel/SuncoastSportz.com 27-24. In the final 4 Resmondo beat B&B and Backman beat Slattery by the run rules. In the losers bracket Team Combat used a walk off hit by Johnny McCraw to beat Vivid and then won 3 more in a row to finish 3rd. ASPNation.com beat 3 straight conference teams in the losers bracket including Line Drive and Slattery to finish an impressive 4th.
With their tournament win, Resmondo moves into second place in the Nationwide Conference USSSA point standings but trail Laservision 1091 to 988. Point standings link.

In other Conference news Smash It Sports/RAC/Rizzo’s/Easton a ‘C’ team from Rochester, New York came out of the losers bracket to “double dip” RDD/KING/EASTON in the finals of the VTS Northeast Shootout Affiliate tournament. And H. Auto LLC/Easton/Hooters MOA went 5-1 and defeated Nightmare/Louisville Slugger 33-19 in the Minnesota Conference Affiliate tournament.
