The 13th “Sin City” Classic Major kicks off the 18th season of the Conference USSSA league with 38 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams at the Big League Dreams park in Las Vegas, Nevada! The tournament begins Friday, March 31st at 9:00 AM Pacific time. The tournament features 9 of the top teams in this years Conference USSSA and 3 of the 4 Major classed teams (MPT, Resmondo, and Competitive Edge). In the past 11 years this tournament has not been won by a non major team on the men’s side.
All games on all 6 fields will be streamed on USSSALive.com and a 7th Channel called “Conference Primetime” will be available each day as a “Red Zone” type channel that has a host and jumps around to different fields showing the best or closest games. The chat room will also be up on SoftballCenter.com to keep fans informed. Live streaming will continue through the championship game which is set for Sunday at 11:15 AM Pacific time. The fields have artificial turf infields and each field is modeled after the look and feel of a major league baseball stadium. Fenway is being used as the show field this year in the men’s division and Wrigley for the women’s. The 2022 World Champion MPT Rentals/Juno Athletics who won their last 4 tournaments to end 2022 will be looking to knock off Resmondo/SIS/All-American/Menosse who “double dipped” them in Las Vegas last year. Resmondo (the Helmer group) has won this tournament 6 times. Also look for CompetitiveEdge/Suncoast/FBI/Olmito to be hungry in the early going as they join the major division and the Roofx/Revolution/Albicocco/AllHustle ‘AA’ team which features most of the Rock Run players from 2022 should be strong or at least entertaining on the smaller Big League Dreams fields.
On the women’s side there are 16 teams led by Smash it/Derby Girls/Rawlings who won the Women’s Major World Series last year, Team 24/Monsta who won the previous 3 years, and two other Major teams LaFamiglia/Fat Angelo’s/GTL/Worth and Classic Glass/Nitro Circus/Rawlings with Classic Glass being new to the Major division. Some of the best women’s slow pitch of the year occurs at the Big League Dreams fields which are well suited for the women’s game.

The weather looks cooler than usual and we could see some really high scores and late night shootouts this year. There are usually some pretty big upsets in this event but when Sunday rolls around there are usually at least 2 Major teams still standing in the “Final 4”.
The Conference is using a live stats app this year as well called BallClubz. Here is a link to the Live Stats for Las Vegas and here is one to the Conference overall. All teams and players should go into their profile and make sure their uniform number and positions are updated.
Also remember to play the Juno Athletics Pickem Game and win some great prizes!
I hope everyone has a great season and want to thank USSSA for their continued support of the Conference which is “THE SHOWCASE” of slow pitch softball. I want to thank the sponsors of these teams for all of the hard work, headaches, and stress it takes to put these teams on the field. Lets have a safe and competitive season and make great memories!
Check out the all new “Conference Prime Time” channel on USSSALive.com during the tournaments this will be an extra channel that skips around to the best games, the best matchups, and host Eric McCarthy will do some announcing and fill you in on what’s going on in the tournament for 4+ hours each day! You can use the USSSA Chat Room to communicate with Eric while the show is going on and ask questions he can answer or recommend a game to switch to etc. We will also have the next Hit & Sit Show on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:30 am to discuss the aftermath of the Las Vegas Major and also look for “This Week in Softball” show to air their 2nd episode around April 5th or 6th featuring the Las Vegas Major.
