The 2022 Conference USSSA season continues in Mesa, Arizona with the “Cactus Classic” at the brand new Legacy Sports USA facility! The Cactus Classic has been played off and on for over a decade at 4 different parks. This year there will be 28 teams in the men’s division led by 3 ‘AA’ teams – Proton/Legacy Gloves Co, Classic Glass/Easton, and Bay Area Legends. The main 4 fields are baseball fields that go out to 385 feet and they will use the Dudley Stadium ZN ball with 75 foot bases. The weather looks great and the fields are all artificial turf. I am told the parking situation is still under construction so allow extra time to get to your fields.
On the women’s side there is a nice field of 17 teams including Smash It Derby Girls who have won all 3 of the Conference events so far in 2022. They will be challenged on the 320 foot fields by ‘AA’ teams Classic Glass, NTL, and SmashIt/SFK. Both the men’s and women’s teams begin on Friday evening.
